I’ve worked with Mark for over 2 years and have found him to be a reliable and diligent colleague with an excellent eye for detail. Employed as a web developer (and then senior web developer) Mark has excellent server-side coding skills, database experience and also standards compliant front-end coding ability.

He has used his skillset to produce some very powerful web applications during his time at HRO’C. In particular he has developed a complex and flexible content management system which has become the main framework for a large proportion of websites produced by HRO’C.

Mark’s skills however are not just limited to coding; he is always keeping up to date with the latest developments online and has embraced Web 2.0 with enthusiasm. He has many personal projects within the field including various blogs, a podcast and is involved with various social media applications. This activity has allowed Mark to push clients to keep at the forefront of online marketing and ensures that these ideas can be translated to real business value.

Mark’s eye for detail comes into its own when it comes to website development. He is able to produce excellent designs or translate provided designs into good clean HTML/CSS code. In addition his experience of accessibility and usability mean he can advise clients on best practice to ensure websites are available to the largest audience possible.

Mark has good time management skills and regularly has kept to tight deadlines for client projects. He has been involved in all areas of the project and is reliable as a client contact when needed. His manner is both professional and relaxed with clients. Mark is a strong member of the HRO’C team and will be sincerely missed. Whoever employs Mark in the future will find a well rounded developer who will, I’m sure, become an asset to the company. I wish him every success in the future.
